Red Ants Dance

With the 2024 Red Ants Pants Music Festival kicking off next week, local businesses and individuals are preparing for the busy upcoming event. Although the majority of the festival events require a ticket, the Red Ants Pants Music Festival always begins its weekend of music with a free street dance in White Sulphur Springs for all to enjoy. This year, two bands will play at the popular function. While the street dance begins at 8 PM, it is important to note that the local Farmers Market will be happening from 4 PM to 7 PM at Joanna’s Park. Expanding one hour beyond its weekly scheduled times, the Farmers Market will allow ample time for visitors to enjoy what local producers and creators have to offer. The Red Ants Pants Street Dance will begin at 8 PM on Main Street with opener Tanner Laws. Tanner Laws Music, a country band from Missoula, Montana, features two University of Montana students, a software engineer, and a former civil engineer. Known for their classic country sound, they perform original songs about Montana life and have quickly become popular at local venues since forming in January 2024. Tanner Laws has opened for major artists and won multiple awards, including the 2023 NW-CMA Songwriter of the Year. Following the opener, Wild Horses will headline the Street Dance at 9 PM. Wild Horses is a rootsy Americana rock band from rural Minnesota. Known for their personal and intimate lyrics, frontman Jed LaPlant draws from his bluegrass heritage to create a deep connection with their audience. Touring nationally and opening for bands like Wilco and Shovels & Rope, they have gained a loyal following with their electrifying live shows. Their debut album, "Runaway," has helped them build a strong presence across the country. Wild Horses is also no stranger to Red Ants Pants events, having played on the Side Stage last year as the second runner-up for the Emerging Artist Competition. The upcoming 2024 Red Ants Pants Street Dance is an anticipated event in White Sulphur Springs. With performances scheduled by Tanner Laws and Wild Horses, the dance aims to provide an engaging musical experience.
