Meagher County’s Retail Refresh
Welcoming two of the region's latest local gems.
The list of businesses within Meagher County is long and covers a broad range of local needs. From restaurants to automotive parts stores, White Sulphur Springs and beyond is filled to the brim with numerous outlets. This week, contributing to the flourishing business scene, two unique establishments opened their doors for visitors and residents alike to enjoy. When the Branding Iron Cafe announced earlier this year a permanent closure, many mourned the loss of the beloved restaurant. Now, however, the building and owners have transitioned to create a new and distinctive business that covers a range of topics. "This-n-That Peddlers,” which opened officially on Wednesday, May 8, is a multifaceted establishment that now offers the region a blend of confectionary delights, including Wilcoxson's Ice Cream, and a diverse range of products such as antiques, home linens, and crafted goods. The space also features rental booths for local artisans, creating a community-centric shopping experience. The store’s summer hours are currently Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to the opening of This-n-That-Peddlers, another building within White Sulphur Springs is finding new beginnings after renovation. The Parberry Building, sporting a rich history of being a cornerstone of Meagher County commerce, was constructed in the 1800s. Presently, the Parberry, opened on Friday, May 9, now houses a new store featuring a mix of clothing, vintage goods, and thrift items, including restored furniture and curated antiques. The fresh store honors the heritage of White Sulphur Springs by combining historical charm with modern retail to create a unique and enjoyable experience. Although the Parberry is now in business, the owners have stated that an official grand opening will be happening at an unspecified future date. The Parberry’s hours are Wednesday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This week, the openings of This-n-That Peddlers and the Parberry signify a positive trend in Meagher County's business landscape. These establishments not only offer residents and visitors a diverse array of products and experiences but also contribute to the economic vitality and cultural richness of the area. As these businesses settle into their new roles within the community, they are poised to become integral parts of White Sulphur Springs' unique and thriving local economy.
