Red Ants Pants Pies & Praise

Local church supplies an alternative worship service for visitors and community members alike.

The Red Ants Pants Music Festival officially starts tomorrow, July 28th. Today, however, the festival campground opened and the farmer’s market, brewery book reading, and street dance all signaled the start of the marathon of a weekend for many. The Yoked Parish of White Sulphur Springs is offering community members and festival goers a way to unwind and destress from the wild nights in the morning of Sunday, July 30th. The Yoked Parish, one of White Sulphur Spring’s five churches, will be putting on a simple, but impactful worship service made especially for the event of Red Ants Pants for the fourth time. Since 2019, the special service has been attempting to provide Red Ants Pants festival attendees a place to praise God while they are on vacation. The occasion has been dubbed ‘Pies and Praise.’ The name is due to the many pies available for those in attendance to eat while they socialize following the religious function. These delicious pies are homemade and are baked by Yoked Parish congregation members. This yearly occurrence happens at the Bandshell located next to the Lane Bar on Main Street of White Sulphur Springs. Pastor Wenda Fry, the Yoked Parish’s pastor of five years, will be leading the function. Congregation members Ken and Paula Marks are to thank for putting the service into action and finding help to transport supplies and move equipment to the location. The Christian worship service will begin at 10 am and all are welcome to attend.
