
Meagher County welcomed 2025 with lively celebrations across White Sulphur Springs and beyond as locals and visitors gathered to mark the occasion. Main Street buzzed with energy on New Year’s Eve, with the Lane Bar, the Stockman Bar, and Bar 47 hosting packed crowds late into the night. Each venue offered its take on the festivities with music, dancing, and party favors, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of town.

A highlight of the evening was the annual Torchlight Parade and fireworks display at Showdown Montana. As soon as the sun set over the Little Belt Mountains, employees on skiis descended the “Big Seven” run with torches in hand. Their lights created a mesmerizing snake down the face of the mountain before morphing into a ’25’ to represent the coming year. A spectacular firework show display followed the parade, lighting up the winter sky and drawing cheers from the crowd. This beloved tradition continues to be a favorite way for many to ring in the new year.

As the festivities concluded and residents turned their focus to the year ahead, many may have reflected on the tradition of making New Year’s resolutions. Statistics show that approximately 38% of Americans set resolutions each year, with goals like improving fitness, eating healthier, and managing finances topping the list. In White Sulphur Springs, resources like Stone Temple Fitness and Spa provide a local hub for those striving to prioritize health and wellness in 2025. While the success of resolutions may vary, the practice of setting intentions offers a purposeful and inspiring way to embrace a fresh start. 


While New Year’s Day in Meagher County was marked by quiet reflection, the celebrations of the night before highlighted the community’s enduring spirit and appreciation for shared experiences. Events like these not only bring people together but also remind residents of the strong connections that make Meagher County’s close-knit rural atmosphere special.
