Pie and Praise
Celebrating community and faith amid Red Ants Pants Festival Weekend.
The Yoked Parish of Meagher County hosted their annual community event, Pie and Praise, during the Red Ants Pants Festival Weekend on Sunday, July 28. This event featured a worship experience at the Band Shell on Main Street at 10 AM to cap off Red Ants Pants Weekend. The event saw a notable turnout, with many festival-goers attending the worship session to take time for prayer and enjoy pies. Pies for the event were coordinated by Shelly Celander. Community members were encouraged to contribute by bringing their favorite pies, adding a communal flair to the event targeted at visitors of the festival. The assortment of pies was a highlight of the event, fostering a sense of community and sharing among attendees. Ken and Paula Marks led the Set-Up and Take-Down Team for the event. Volunteers were essential to ensure the smooth running of Pie and Praise. Last year saw a record number of worshippers and festival-goers at Pie and Praise, and the organization was pleased to have another impressive turnout this year. In addition to the main event, some "Friends of the Yoked Parish" led a hymn singing on the Festival Grounds on Sunday at 11:30 AM. This musical gathering offered another opportunity for community engagement and religious enrichment at the Red Ants Pants Festival. An event like Pie and Praise during the Red Ants Pants Music Festival offers an opportunity for attendees to engage in a communal and spiritual gathering. This event brings people together for worship and sharing homemade pies, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Additionally, it showcases local culture and traditions, enriching the festival experience. By providing a moment of reflection and unity, Pie and Praise enhances the festival's appeal and strengthens community ties. The Yoked Parish remained committed to their goal of "Presence in the Community," and Pie and Praise was an example of this mission. The event brought together worshippers, strengthened community bonds, and celebrated the spirit of togetherness. The Yoked Parish extended their gratitude to all who participated and supported this event. Photo via Yoked and Trinity Parishes of Meagher County Facebook Page.
