Upcoming Events and Updates for Families as the School Welcomes 2025
As we enter into the new year, the school will continue to hold activities from time to time to provide engagement between the school and families. On January 14th, the school will hold a Bingo Night for families. There will be no charge for cards, just a fun night to play Bingo. The theme for the night is “Book Characters,” so join us in costume and join in on the fun. Winners of Bingo will be able to earn prizes. Appetizers will be served during the event.
The second semester will begin on January 2, 2025. January 3 will be a full day of school with a 3:50 release. January 10th will be the first day of no school on Fridays. We will hold a PIR day that day, so there will be no enrichment activities as the teachers will be in workshops. On January 17th, we will begin enrichment activities on Friday. The doors will open at 8 am and students will be at the school until 12:50. Those who will have their child attend the enrichment activities can let the classroom teacher know each Monday or send a note stating your child will be in attendance on Friday.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for prices listed below: o K-12 Breakfast $2.25 o K-6 Lunch $2.75 o 7-12 Lunch $3.00
Surveys will be sent at the end of February to determine the effectiveness of the 4-day model. Please look for that in elementary folders and on our SMS system to JH/HS parents.
There will also be Little Hornet Basketball on Friday mornings from 8 am to 9:30 am during the month of January starting the 17th. Students will play in games on January 18th and February 1. Students in grades 2-4 will be sent home with permission slips and details.
